World Karate Federation Medical Commision chairman welcomes revised WADA Code

arRafael Arriaza, chairman of the World Karate Federation (WKF) Medical Commission, has welcomed the new World Anti-Doping (WADA) Code.

WKF Anti-Doping Rules were declared in line with the revised WADA Code which came into effect on January 1, and Arriaza believes the Code will provide help to combat doping in the sport.

“WKF welcomes the revised Code approach that provides tougher sanctions for international cheats, while more flexibility is permitted in sanctioning such cases where an athlete can demonstrate inadvertent doping and that he or she was not cheating,” Arriaza said.
