THE WKF TEAM WHICH WILL DEFEND KARATE TO BE INCLUDED IN THE OLYMPICS BEFORE THE IOC MEMBERS NEXT MAY
This is the World Karate Federation team which has been working hard since years ago to convince IOC that Karate should be included in the Olympic Games, from 2020 onwards. Few days ago, they had a working meeting in Madrid to prepare the presentation they will defend before the IOC next May in Saint Petersburg. They had already presented the Karate Candidature in Lausanne (Switzerland) last December.
Most of you know them well. The WKF team members are -as shown from the left on the image- Mr Davide Benetello, – WKF Athletes Commission Chairman-; Miss Tessy Scholtes – WKF Athletes Commission Member; Mr Antonio Espinós – WKF President; Mr George Yerolimpos – WKF General Secretary and Mr Francis Didier – WKF Sports Commissioner & Executive Committee Member. Finally, Mr Fernando Román not appearing in the photo, completes the team as a technical assistant. Three of them have been for years Karate world champions and elite competitors, so no doubt they will fight for Karate being Olympic as they already did in competitions.
This reunion in Madrid developed smoothly while they prepared and coordinated every detail which will be part of the presentation before International Olympic Committee members. This time the K symbol was present at the reunion fulfilling the air with its optimist spirit. They feel happy and confident since it has been done an excellent job last months, and everybody is sure that the message of Karate comprising values and organisation, tradition and innovation will be very well received by the IOC. And among all reasons to be satisfied with is all of you backing the K on Facebook and in every dojo, club and federation across the globe.
They want so say THANK YOU!
